This year I decided to take on a very ambitious challenge, to get all three of my kids hand prints on a mug, age 12 all the way down to three months. It took me many tries to get three decent looking handprints on top of one another, did you know 3 month olds don’t listen very well? But even though I’m going to find paint in my hair for the next month I’m still happy I did it and I now have my absolute favorite mug.

Just Popping Up To Say Hi - Free Card Download

Being Mom friends is hard, kids schedules are difficult to juggle plus making time to connect with your spouse and when you finally get around to do something you just want to take a bath or even just go to bed. That is why I made this free card for everyone to download. You can still show up for your friends even if you can’t physically be there. Print this card off, add a $5 gift card, press a flower on the inside, or fill it with encouraging words.

DIY BIrd feedeRs

There is only one thing my toddler likes more than Paw Patrol yogurt and that is “making art.” Stickers, coloring, painting, he loves it all. So this week I started our craft week off with a craft that was both messy and sticky, in other words it was right up his alley.

Here is how we made our bird feeders:

Supplies:

1 envelop gelatin

8 oz boiling water

5ish cups Wild Bird Seed

Bowl and spatula

Heart shaped cookie cutters

Straws cut down to 3” pieces

Tray with wax paper

Ribbon for hanging

Directions:

• Boil water and dissolve gelatin packet

• Stir in bird seed

• Place cookie cutters on top of tray with wax paper

• Make sure bird seed mixture is cool enough to touch and then fill and pat down inside of cookie cutters

• Insert one cut straw into the bird seed mixture where your ribbon will go to hang it up (make sure it’s pushed all the way down)

• Place the tray of filled cookie cutters in the fridge for 2-3 hours then leave the tray on the counter to dry overnight

• Carefully remove your bird feeders from the cookie cutters, tie a ribbon through the hole you made with the straws and hang them outside to enjoy!

Things I learned:

Heart shaped cookie cutters work the best because they didn’t have tight corners, the other shapes we tried did not turn out as well as the hearts.

We loved making this craft and we are even more excited to see the birds eat from them. It’s a great indoor craft that keeps the kids busy!

Free Dog Sitter Print

I don’t know about you, but we have a high anxiety dog. She likes to stay home, run away from rabbits, and take long naps on the couch, she guards our house with her deep growl and attentive ears and I love her for it. But if we try to take her anywhere her world is literally coming to an end so over the years we have accepted that our anxious dog gets to stay home with a sitter if we ever to anywhere.

To make things a little easier we designed an info sheet so if anything were to happen all her information is readily available. So if you are like us and can’t take your dog anywhere, or if you simply are not bringing your dog on your trip, enjoy this free download so you can rest assured your sitter has everything they need.

A Tea Party for a Bride

It brings me joy to host a party. The excitement, the planning and getting to choose how to make each detail stand out is a creative job I do not take lightly.

I’ve known my Sister-In-Law for almost 10 years. The strong, confident woman that she is, is someone that I admire and her finance is lucky to have her by his side. So when I was asked to host her shower I could not have been more excited to do it.

I wanted her to have a shower that would honor her as bride and the life she is about to begin. A Tea Party represented both the beauty and traditions that she is entering into with her vows and the Marathon County Historical Society was the perfect setting to do it.

Guests dined on hamburger sliders and mini blts with a special sauce recipe that my husband and I will keep secret forever. With an assortment of tea and games for the bride to be we toasted to her upcoming marriage and showered her with gifts.

Why do we stop dating after we get married? The romance, the butterflies, the excitement of going out, these things shouldn’t disappear. Shortly after having our second child my husband and I went to a marriage conference weekend it I have to tell you, it was fantastic. We talked about things that would not have otherwise come up and reinforced our already strong foundation. We walked away dedicated to prioritizing each other even with having a newborn and one of the ways we are doing that is through weekly date nights.

Yes, weekly.

We have a routine of one week is a date night in, the next is a date night out and we hire a sitter. After doing this for almost a year I can’t stress enough how important date nights are. Time alone with your spouse that is outside of the hours of 8-10 pm gets harder with each child so our scheduled date nights are something that we prioritize and although my husband doesn’t know it yet, our date nights are going to get a little more exciting.
